Here we go again with a really interesting site I’ve discovered throug a facebook contact: Very Important Pixels

The site its all about portraying celebrities, but giving them the look of a 80’s videogame. I just love every edition they publish.

rappers, mcs, nas, jay-z, busta rhymes, puff daddy, snoop dogg

Check out the comments of the entries to see the people’s guess about who they are.

About Me

I was born in Devon and gradually migrated across the south coast of England before settling in Brighton. I am passionate about developing creative ideas which I often resolve through animation and three dimensional forms. I am coming to the end of my degree in Illustration at the University of Brighton.

I have been involved in projects for clients including Ford, The New York Times and BBC. My work has also been featured in the book ‘Tangible: High Touch Visuals’ and magazines including Computer Arts and ARC Design in Brazil.

Recently I have gained experience working with Brighton-based animation studio KANOTICRUSH(Design and Art Direction) and BLINK production company in Soho.

He is not exactly a photographer but I discovered him through his flickr profile, where says about himself:

Hi! irI5 here… I am an artist who specializes in using non traditional media… old books, cassettes, playing cards, magazines, credit cards… whatever I can find. It feels great to work with strange, older materials. Things that have a mind of their own. Most everything I use has been thrown away or donated at some point. Past its prime, like some of the finest things in the world. : ) I welcome all questions and comments.
Thank you for stopping by!

I found his work pretty interesting, I like the idea of the artist becoming back to life straight from his work. Also iri5 shows some collage related works. Check it out:

The folks behind All Tomorrow’s Parties, the international festival juggernaut, are throwing themselves a birthday party! December 11-13, the Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead, England will play host to the Ten Years of ATP Festival, which will celebrate a full decade of Steve Albini whupping drunk fools at poker.

The ATP folks have invited their closest friends to play this shindig, so past ATP curators and ATP recording artists will be on the bill. Right now, the lineup includes Explosions in the Sky, Deerhoof, Shellac, Dirty Three, Tortoise, Melvins, the For Carnation, Papa M, Fuck Buttons, the Drones, Sleepy Sun, Bardo Pond, and Mudhoney, with more bands to be announced.
